Fruits of the mouth

Good Morning!

In the heat of an argument, people often release words meant to wound, defend pride, or satisfy a moment of anger. Scripture reminds us that the “fruit of the mouth” can fill the belly (Prov. 18:20), but the aftertaste may linger far longer than the moment. Words spoken in haste can create a lifetime stomachache, fractured relationships, broken trust, and emotional scars that take years to heal.

 

Many friendships, marriages, families, and even destinies have been damaged because of the bitter fruit that flowed from someone’s lips. What we speak is rarely accidental. 

Jesus teaches that whatever comes out of the mouth is a direct reflection of what has been brewing in the heart. If harsh, vindictive, or reckless words roll off the tongue with ease, it is a sign that the heart has been quietly harboring those seeds.

 

As followers of Christ, we are called to cultivate hearts that reflect His character. hearts filled with grace, patience, humility, and love. When the heart is transformed, the mouth will follow.

Choose your words wisely. Speak life. Sow peace. Let your mouth bear fruit that nourishes rather than destroys. For the words you release today may shape someone’s tomorrow and your own. 

Don’t forget God is still in control

In the face of the world spiraling out of control, let’s not forget God is still in control! Psalms 12, David prays for the people who had lost faith. The world’s unstableness is causing mental turmoil. Our nation has no compassion for the people plundered while the needy go unnoticed. God’s word is flawless. He arise and protect us from the maleficent (Ps. 12:5). 

By our tongues we can fix the conundrum we currently live in. Who is lord over you? Man or God? Christians it’s time to unite! Close the chasm that separates us from God. What we see and read daily may appear one way but it does not have to stay that way. Invoke God in your conversation not doubt, doom, and your shallow theories. Use your tongue to speak God’s word. Pray that God will keep us safe and protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored is by the human race. There is power in prayer. Don’t lose your faith the end is not here yet. We are still in this race call life. 

Good fruit or bad fruit?

In the midst of an argument, people tend to say words to either verbally hurt someone or fulfill their personal gratification. The fruits of the mouth can fill your belly (Prov. 18:20), but the outcome can cause a lifetime stomach ache. Be mindful of the words you speak. 

Many relationships and even lives have been forsaken because of the bad fruits that flow from the mouth. What comes out of the mouth, often comes from what’s in the heart. If hurtful and vindictive words flow off the tongue with ease, they have been brewing in the heart (spirit) for some time. In all things strive to be Christ like. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Chose your words wisely.

You are a conqueror.

There was a time when I coped with life just to exist. I coaxed my mind that everything was okay. Pep talks and prayer were all to no avail. A consumed soul, teeming with self-inflected guilt, and disappointments. The mind is powerful. God can manifest all power in you, and your mind would convince you differently. The great prophet Elijah was no different. He called down the wrath of God on 450 of Baal’s prophets, (1Kings 18:16-45) yet he feared for his life simply because Jezebel said he would die in 24hrs (1kings 19:1-3). What are you telling yourself? Death or life is in the power of the tongue. Encourage yourself daily. Pray daily. Seek God. Trust God’s word. You are a  conqueror.
