Good Morning!
Anxiety can slip into the best of us. Worry blankets the mind like a pending storm, and before we know it, our thoughts and words begin to reflect the heaviness we feel. Scripture reminds us that the words you speak manifest life. Whether positive or negative, your words plant seeds that eventually grow into fruit.
Recently, I overheard a friend repeatedly introduce his kids as his “little monsters.” Each time he said it—with his children standing right there—his words pierced me. What made it more concerning was that he professes to be a Christian. He reads his Bible daily. Yet the words he spoke over his children were anything but life‑giving.
After hearing “little monsters” for what felt like the twentieth time, I gently said, “Do you know the words you speak over your children are manifesting something in them?” He shrugged, “I don’t mean anything by it. I tell them that all the time.” I replied, “But your words are powerful. Why not call them little angels instead?” Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his daughter nod quietly, confirming the truth of what was said.
Consider the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5. Before she touched Jesus’ garment, she spoke her faith: “If I just touch His clothes, I will be healed.” Her miracle began with her words.
Be careful what you speak over your family. Think life. Speak life. Expect life.
