Underestimating God’s power

There is something someone has been grappling with for some time.  It could be a job, family issues, lost dreams, or health. Despite your continuous efforts to stay positive, prayed up and in the word, faith’s fire of hope is dimming. Never underestimate the power of God! You may recall when Jesus made wine at the wedding (Jn 2:1-11), where he made the best wine! It takes years to make good wine. Yet Jesus makes the best batch instantaneously.  Whatever you are going through, be it one year or 20 years God can change it instantly. Don’t lose faith.

Every journey is not smooth

Blessings are often missed because we select our plans opposed to God’s plan. When our clarion prayers are answered we second guess God’s response. No matter how tough the journey learn to trust God and walk in faith. For every hard task rejected because  we believe it will cost pain or struggle it has a sweet in it. By not doing it, we miss the blessing from God. For every heavy load we are asked to carry, God will provide the needed strength and guidance. Seek God in everything thing. Pray. Study the word. Allow God to order your steps (Ps 119:133-136) and his word to be a lamp under your feet, and a light unto my path (Ps. 119:105).  Be encouraged.

Letting Go for God is Hard

Free falling off a cliff
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6

Hanging on to life's cliff

If you where hanging off a cliff screaming for help and heard the voice of Jesus say "let go" would you? Or would you be the Christian who is ever hearing but never understanding; ever seeing but never perceiving and whose heart has become calloused. (Isaiah 6,  Matt. 13)

Jesus encouraged His followers to see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, turn from their ways, and he would heal them. It is clear what the out come would be when applying this method, however, many Christians choose to follow their own logic and understanding. God sees the end from the very beginning, all we have to do is trust.

Hanging on to burdens

In life, we find ourselves suspended over perplexed situations that cause frustration and disappointment which prompts us to call on the Lord. From praying we anticipate and receive answers but choose to hang on oppose to letting go. One element of Christian growth is to learn when to plant and sow; when to take on new tasks, when to hold, and when to let go.  Another component of growth is to find the true connection with God, increase knowledge, relationship, trust, and faith in Christ which will allow you to make right decisions as well as reap the benefits of joy.

Walking with Christ

This new concept of walking with Christ is not an easy process. There will be set backs, as well as joy and happiness. During the dry seasons don’t complain about life but find short bursts of elation and continuously building upon it will conquer grief. Joy and sadness cannot coexist in the same space at the same time.

Whatever your ‘cliff in life’ may be, just submit yourself, walk and trust in God! Stop trying to figure it out. If it’s a job, home, relationship, children, or finances, let go of the ledge. Will it be easy? NO but you will make it! God got your back. Find your safety net through God. It will make way for a better relationship with Christ!

When God appears far away I questioned him

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?   Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? Psalms 22:1

Not too long ago I questioned my faith at every crossroad. Was the Holy Spirit with me or was I home alone. Though I professed my faith in Christ my mind played tricks on me. I questioned God. Lord my life does not make sense. Doubt found a small breech in my foundation of faithfulness. I wanted to give up.

When God appears far away

David was hand picked by God. He slayed Goliath, and was chosen the next heir to Saul. David was a man after God’s own heart. Despite all God’s bestowed blessings David encountered emotional despair.  Why Lord do you stand far off?  Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?  Psalms 10:1

Did God forsake me? No. Though it appeared that God was far from David as heaven is to earth he confirmed that God was still in control. In you our ancestors put their trust they trusted and you delivered them Psalms 22:4.

As the ocean tides ebb and flow I learned to trust in God’s word no matter how unstable a situation may appear. Every day is confirmation God has blessed me. When bad days rise God expects me to rely on my faith in Him. To dig through tribulation, trust in his word. As with David my valley is only temporary.

The paradigm shift

I focused on these steps as I developed my Spiritual relationship with Christ.

+ Never-ending prayer [conversation]
+ Seeking to improve self spiritually
+Trusting more in every word
+In return God made his presence known through the Holy Spirit

Spirit over Flesh

When operating in the flesh I was frustrated and unable to maintain a clear mindset. As I leaned more on His word it was evident He never left me nor forsaken me. God was always present.

Don’t give up no matter how hard the journey. Trust more in God and express it through prayer and praise. Lift your eyes unto the hills from whence cometh your help Psalms 121.  In exchange God will fulfill his word by making the expedition just a bit easier. Keep the faith and allow God to complete his masterpiece which is you!

Let us pray:
Lord, in the name of Jesus I doubt that you are with me. I am questioning your love, joy and peace. Help me trust in your word. Remove my disbelief. Make your word clear so it will lead me in to trusting you more. Give me the strength not to give up and continue to grow into the warrior you created me to be. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. No weapons can form against me if I trust and obey your word.  Lord Bless every reader of your word. This I pray in your son Jesus Christ name. - Amen
