God’s Way or Your Way

Good Morning!

Every day presents a fork in the road. Sometimes it’s obvious, sometimes subtle but the question remains the same: Will you choose God’s way or your own?

 

Our way is shaped by limited understanding, shifting desires, and expectations that rise and fall with circumstances. It often feels easier, more familiar, or more comfortable. But it rarely leads to lasting peace. God’s way, on the other hand, is not always the most popular or predictable path. It may require surrender, patience, or courage. Yet it consistently produces what our way never can; wisdom, clarity, and divine protection.

 

David learned this firsthand. When he sought God, he lacked nothing. But when he acted independently, fear and instability followed him. Solomon faced a similar crossroads. Offered anything he desired, he didn’t choose riches, power, or revenge. He chose wisdom and God honored him beyond what he asked.

 

You may be standing at your own crossroads today regarding work, relationships, finances, health, or decisions that weigh heavily on your heart. The options may feel overwhelming, but the invitation is simple and clear: Choose God’s way.

 

Make a conscious decision to trust Him fully. Lay down your assumptions, your timelines, and your need to control the outcome. Acknowledge Him in every step, and He promises to direct your path. His Word is not just a light it is a guide, a compass, a steady hand leading you toward purpose and peace.

 

Take God’s path today. It may not be the easiest, but it is always the right one.

One Day, One Step, One Surrendee

Good Morning!

Life has a way of sending several waves at once. A doctor’s report here, a company decision there, unexpected voices offering opinions you never asked for. Before you know it, your spirit feels crowded, your mind feels heavy, and your peace feels threatened. Yet even in the chaos, God offers a steadying truth: you were never meant to carry what you cannot control.

There is power in taking life one call, one person, one day at a time. Peace begins with recentering, pulling your mind back from the swirl of “what ifs” and anchoring it in the God who never changes. You may be at the mercy of doctors or corporate decisions, but you are never outside the mercy of God. His sovereignty is not shaken by your circumstances.

Much of the noise around you is just that noise! Opinions, assumptions, pressure, and fear disguised as concern. You cannot stop the noise, but you can choose how much of it you allow into your spirit. Guard your heart. Protect your peace. Everything does not need your attention, your analysis, or your emotional energy.

Some things you simply cannot figure out. And that is where trust becomes your lifeline. Patience is not passive; it is the active decision to place what you cannot control into the hands of the One who can. Prayer becomes the release valve, your way of handing over the weight you were never meant to carry.

When you give it to God, you make room for His peace to settle you, strengthen you, and guide you. Even in the storm, you can breathe. Even in uncertainty, you can rest. God has you, and He will not fail you.

Covered By Grace in 2026

Happy New Year! 

As we step into a new year, take a moment to breathe in God’s goodness. Last year held victories, losses, lessons, and unexpected turns and yet through it all, God’s grace and mercy covered you. 

You are here because God kept you, strengthened you, and carried you.

Scripture reminds us to “rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18). 

Gratitude isn’t about pretending everything was perfect; it’s about recognizing that God was present in every moment. What can you thank Him for today? What did He teach you, protect you from, or grow within you?

As you enter this new year, release what tried to hold you back. God speaks clearly: “Forget the former things… See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18–19). 

There is something ahead of you that requires your focus, your faith, and your willingness to move forward.

You are not stepping into the unknown alone. God has already prepared the path. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord… (Jeremiah 29:11). His plans are intentional, hopeful, and filled with purpose.

But to walk in what God has for you, you must stay connected to Him. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). Make space for prayer. Open your Bible with expectation. Worship with a heart ready to receive. God is not distant — He is waiting to meet you.

This year, may you walk boldly, love deeply, trust fully, and seek God intentionally. He has something for you and it begins with drawing near.

Don't worry, Seek God first in all things

For the Gentiles run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Matthew 6:32

 

Good Morning!

Jack spent a lifetime living a life of chaos. His dream of success, despite countless hours of trying to obtain "financial prosperity," eluded him. The calm of his younger years transformed into chaotic golden years.

 

 Warning the disciples, Jesus emphasized that they could not serve both God and money. It stands to reason, that by serving God and placing our complete trust in Him, we eliminate the need to worry about our daily needs.  "do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?" 

 

 Throughout history, the pursuit of happiness has often been associated with money and material ownership. Humankind inadvertently prioritizes material wealth over seeking God and the Kingdom first. Failing to achieve a goal often results in losing hope, which can trigger internal storms of depression, anger, and bitterness.

 In the failed pursuit of success, individuals often resort to drastic measures.

 

In Matthew 6:33, we are reminded by Scripture that by seeking God and His kingdom first, all things will be added to us. By seeking God first, Jesus wanted Christians to understand that God would supply their needs. Our daily needs should not be a cause for worry.  By seeking God first, and trusting in Him, he will provide.

 

Yes, we must work.  Our work sustains life. Seeking God first and trusting Him for all things is what God desires from us. Trust in God rather than relying on your own understanding.

 

 There is still hope when facing a crisis, whether it be financial, health, or job-related.  Keep your eyes and faith in Christ.  During the storm, remember to always seek God and the Kingdom first.

Listening & learning

Listening and following directions is a challenge for many. Add God to the situation it becomes more daunting. Christians profess to follow God's word and trust in Him. We recite verses, pray to order my steps, yet we still doubt or question God. 1 King 17:7-15, the prophet Elijah, and the widow listened. Just what if neither didn’t. God told Elijah to go into enemy territory. Likewise, the widow was cooking her last meal and a stranger comes wanting water and bread to eat. How many of us would have listened to God and done either task without questioning?  When things don’t look favorable learn to listen to God's guidance. Trust God's word, even when it don't make sense. What appeared to be dismal situations for Elijah and the widow turned out to be a blessing. We're in challenging times right now. Listen to the voice of God. He may be leading you to do something that is unconventional and don’t make sense. Whatever God tells you to do, or take away he always makes provisions. Listen and trust God. 

 

View all sides before making a decision

When dealing with a situation, the negative is most often seen before visualizing the positive. We typically do not view all angles first. Our perception often times lead to hasty or incorrect responses.  

These pictures represent one dandelion taken from two different vantage points. To one, the image appears to be taller and to someone else shorter. When facing life’s obstacles do not approach them alone. Look at all perspectives and include God before making a decision. Trust God with all thine heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. 

Through prayer, the negative perception can change just as quickly as a dandelion’s tassels can float away. And God will direct your path. 

Fear begins in the mind

Fear begins in the mind. Things we should  pass to God, we tend to hold on to them. We allow them to linger and grow. Jesus assured us we have peace and not let things trouble our hearts. What are you holding on to? Let go and let God. Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid (John 14:27).

Trust God in all things

Nowhere in the Bible does it indicate that if you are a child of God, Christian, or believer of the word you are exempt from suffering. Those who trust God will still suffer. God never promised a life free from some pain but he did promise never to leave nor to forsake us. 

Don’t lose faith or hope. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Which path to take?

There is a fork in the road. Which path should you take? Your way or God’s way? 

Our path is led by our own understanding. Our desires. Short lived hopes and expectations. God’s path is often not the most traveled but it yields the greatest reward. Wisdom and most importantly God’s protection. David lacked for nothing as long as he seeked God. David working without God kept him in perpetual fear and constant running. Solomon had an opportunity to ask for anything in the world yet he asked for wisdom (1kings 3:7-13). Today you face a fork in the road. Job, relationship, finance, or health. The list goes on. Make a conscious decision right now to take GOD’S WAY and NOT YOUR WAY. Seek God. Trust God. Lean not to your understanding. Acknowledge him. He will direct your path. His word is a lamp, a guide to your path. Take God’s path. 

Underestimating God’s power

There is something someone has been grappling with for some time.  It could be a job, family issues, lost dreams, or health. Despite your continuous efforts to stay positive, prayed up and in the word, faith’s fire of hope is dimming. Never underestimate the power of God! You may recall when Jesus made wine at the wedding (Jn 2:1-11), where he made the best wine! It takes years to make good wine. Yet Jesus makes the best batch instantaneously.  Whatever you are going through, be it one year or 20 years God can change it instantly. Don’t lose faith. 

Does your soul leak?

One does not know a roof leaks until it rains.  Likewise, Christians go through life oblivious of leaks in their soul until the storms of affliction come. It is then we find unbelief, fear, and impatience, seeping from within our carnal minds. It exposes the true depth of our faith. It’s when the flood gates of distress are opened and life’s trials are thrusted upon us do we realize defects in our spiritual armor. Save me God for the waters come unto my soul (Ps. 69:1). It’s during these times we must tread the stormy waters and trust God. For he holds all the waters in his hands. Your struggles are only a test to reveal your spiritual needs. The leaks can be  repaired by prayer, Faith building, and yielding to the Holy Spirit.

Knowing how to pray

Most Christians don’t know how to pray. Many believe in long charismatic prayers, while others are filled with self gratification. Jesus told the disciples to pray in private. Don’t babble. There is no need for many words. Your prayer can be as simple as The Lord’s Prayer (Matt. 6:5-14).

·   Prayer is communication with God

·   Prayer is an action – praying without ceasingThes. 5:17.

·   Prayer is supplication – Phil. 4:6

·   Prayer is NOTvain repetition Mat 6:7

When you begin praying, your petitions should be directed to God. Opposed to egotistical prayers of your desires, start by giving thanks for everything – life, health, home, joband family. Pray for the sick, shut-in, friends andstrangers. Most important, seek God’s will and welcomed the Holy Spirit into my life.

Father God, help me to become more conscious of giving you thanks, praise and less selfish desires. Help me to grow spiritually and conform to your will. This I pray in your son Jesus Christ name – Amen.

When God seems far away

I better understand how a person can question their faith and choose to give up on God. That point when God appears far away. You’ve done all the right things, yet chaos and heartache is relentless. One car issue after another. Sickness knocks you down you haven’t worked in weeks. Bills pile up and you have no money. Turmoil awaits at every corner. Life is in shambles. God where are you? Why Lord do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?  (Psalms 10:1) David, the chosen one, experienced the same thing. Despite his many accomplishments we find him asking God had he forsaken him in Psalms 22:1 when Saul was in hot pursuit for his life (1 Sam. 21:1-23:29). When David operated in the flesh, by his own understanding, he stayed frustrated and always running trying to figure it out. When he slowed down, prayed, and sought God, slowly things begin to change. Life will continue to throw situations at us. It’s when we learn to stay in continuous prayer, thanking God in all circumstances, and trusting God’s word no matter the outcome God works in his greatness! Learn to trust his word; don’t be afraid or terrified because the Lord your God goes with you, never leaving or forsaking you (Deut. 31:6).

Encourage yourself even when it hurts

This morning is hard to face. Your mind is flooded with the horrors of past due Bills broke down car, under paid and overworked. You feel abandoned by God from unanswered Prayers. Your thoughts pull you into the abyss of #depression. As hard as it may be, during these dark Moments of pain, we have to find the strength to #encourage self. We get encouragement from time to time from family and friends, but what happens when no one is around? How do you encourage and jump-start self? When I find myself faced with despair Here are a few things I do for self #motivation. 

#Pray – ask God to pull you from this pit

Praise – find a song to sing unto his name

#Gratitude – count blessings one by one

The past – think of where God had brought you from

Find inspiration in what other people have done. What they succeeded (or failed) is a great way to get your feet off the ground again.

Do something that makes you happy; that brings you joy; that you love; that centers you. 

Finally, Take on a spirit like David and celebrate. Dance like David Danced. Find ways to encourage and recapture the joy in your life again!

Starting a faith journey

The reason so many people have trouble accepting or understanding the Bible, they are trying to logically figure it out. God clearly told us his ways and thoughts are not like ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). You start trusting God when you draw near to him (Heb. 11:6). By trusting in His word, you begin the journey walking in faith just as Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses 

(Heb. 11:8-19). When God’s actions don’t make sense continue to trust His word. Regardless of how small their faith was, the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea by faith. Remove your thoughts, trust God’s word because without faith it is impossible to please him. In all things diligently seek God. It only takes one step to start the journey of faith. 

Waiting on God can be hard

Waiting on God is hard. Many take matters into their own hands or do busy work trying to find an end to no means. 

Sarah couldn’t wait on God’s Promise for a child for Abraham, (Gen. 18:1-15) she took matters into her own hands by telling Abraham to sleep with Hagar (Gen.16:1-16). The hardest part of trusting God is for us to have enough faith to BE STILL and wait on God! When those doubting moments arise, recite: “Father God I trust you.... even though I don't see the end in sight I trust you!” Know that He is God.  Everything will fall in place in due season. 

Stop doing things by yourself

U didn't get the job U thought was yours. The one U prayed so fervently for. Since God didn’t give U that job or respond as quick as desired, U now take matters into your own hands. God was always with David, as a shepherd, the fight with Goliath and when Saul tried to kill him. In the midst of chaos we tend to take matters in our hands. When Saul began his quest for David’s life, he ran. In 1 Sam 21, David didn’t seek God he was looking for food and protection. As a fugitive, God reminded David he was with him through the Scared bread and Goliath’s sword. Each should have been signs of how God had provided in the past. Despite the signs, David continued to do it his way. What have U prayed for but continue to do it your way? Over time David learned to trust God. U can too. Pray, meditate in the word, listen for God and trust him. 

Never take the journey alone

Your life’s journey was not design for you to travel alone. 

Though it is you who has to go the course, surround yourself with those who will help and encourage you along the way. Likewise, seek God. For He can order your steps as well as send Angels to help along the way. 

When we go alone and things don’t go our way, we tend to blame God for the outcome. In all things seek God’s will. Seek his guidance. Never take the Journey alone.
