  1. FORGIVENESS

I have been "Stuck on Stupid" on this simple though difficult act in my process of closure in the most recent chapter of my life.

It certainly is not at all easy, though it surely is necessary in order to get on with our lives...

I could not have said this better:

"Forgiveness does not mean condoning what happened. Forgiveness is acknowledging that holding on to whatever you did, or what other people did to you, only perpetuates your pain. Withholding forgiveness is denying your peace."

May God grant me the strength and spiritual maturity to simply FORGIVE... I WILL be a better man for it; a more ‘peaceful’ man for it. In You I trust for my strength, courage and insight to do so.....

Ephesians 4:31-32 " Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. " (attitude: loving and forgiving just like God forgave you)

    1. I too having to learn to forgive a family member who really did me wrong. It did not effect just me but also my daugher and husband and those in our church. I may forgive and give to God but I will never have another relationship with them again.
I love the verse in Ephesians you chose. Choosng to treat them as Christ would. Since they have not turned from their wicked ways I find myself like Paul dustng my sandels off and moving on. Life is too short to spend time with people like this. I have to give them to God and leave them there. God knows their heart and he is big enough to handle them. I am putting on the armour of the Lord and letting him do battle for me.
      Thank you!

  2. Douglas,
You are on the right track forgiveness is not EASY. The first step to forgiveness is acknowledging and making the effort to implement. Now once we forgive we have to learn how to let it go and allow the healing to take place.
