Do A New Thing With God

There are moments when life feels like a standstill, when you’re praying, pushing, and trying, yet nothing seems to shift. 

Israel knew this feeling well. After centuries of bondage, God delivered them from Egypt with a mighty hand. But freedom didn’t come without challenges. God intentionally led them the long way around, straight toward the Red Sea (Exodus 13:17–18). It looked like a dead end, but it was actually the setup for a new beginning.

 

When the Israelites saw Pharaoh’s army approaching, fear overwhelmed them. They cried out, complained, and questioned God’s plan (Exodus 14:10–12). Isn’t that how we respond when our “new thing” doesn’t look the way we expected? We ask God for change, but when the path gets uncomfortable, we reach back for what’s familiar, even if it was harmful.

 

Yet God wasn’t shaken by their fear. He told Moses, “Move forward.” The miracle didn’t happen until they stepped toward the impossible. God parted the waters, proving that His new thing often begins where our strength ends.

 

Jesus echoes this same truth when He says, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30). When you surrender control, you make room for God to work. When you stop rehearsing the past, you can finally perceive the new thing He is doing.

 

Today, choose forward. Let go of what God has already released. Trust Him with what you cannot see. The same God who made a path through the sea is making a path for you. Step into the new! He is already there.

The Key To God’s Blessings

In the grand scheme of life, we actually need very little. God has already woven provision into the rhythm of creation—land, food, shelter, community, and above all, salvation through Christ. Yet it’s often the extra things we want that pull us into worry, distraction, and dissatisfaction. Scripture reminds us that God’s divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life (2 Peter 1:3). The problem is not God’s provision; it’s our appetite for more.

 

Consider Israel in the wilderness. For forty years God provided manna, water, protection, guidance, and mercy. Still, they grumbled. Their hearts were never satisfied because their desires were louder than their gratitude. That same disconnect exists today. Many people are not trapped by lack of, they’re trapped by the love of money, the belief that more will finally make life feel full.

 

God speaks directly to this: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Contentment is not settling; it’s trusting. It’s recognizing that God’s presence is the greatest provision of all.

 

One of the keys to unlocking God’s blessings is simple yet powerful: Seek the kingdom of God first. When God is first, desires fall into order. Needs are met. Peace increases. And blessings come without becoming burdens (Matthew 6:19–34).

 

Let us remember: The Lord is our shepherd; we lack nothing (Psalm 23). Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).

 

God will meet all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Seek Him first and thank Him continually for every blessing already in your hands.

The Favor Of God

God’s favor is more than a blessing you can hold in your hands, it is a covering over your life. Many people point to cars, homes, or promotions as signs of favor, but the deepest form of God’s favor is protection. It is the unseen intervention, the quiet rescue, the moment when danger was near but God stepped in.

 

Joseph’s story shows us this kind of favor. Betrayed by his brothers, thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned, yet God never left him. Every step that looked like a setback was actually divine positioning. God preserved Joseph’s life, gave him wisdom, and elevated him to a place where he could bless nations. That is favor, undeserved, unearned, and undeniable.

 

When you look back over your own life, you can trace the fingerprints of God’s protection. Times you should have been harmed. Moments that could have broken you. Situations that were designed to destroy you but instead became testimonies. Favor is God saying, “Not so. Not today.”

 

And sometimes we ask, “Why did God let it happen at all?” But God doesn’t get glory from what never occurred, He gets glory from what He brings you through. Your survival is a testimony. Your endurance is evidence. Your story is a witness.

 

If it had not been for the Lord’s favor, where would you be today? Let your gratitude answer that. Let your life reflect it. God’s favor has protected you more times than you know.

The Faith In God

The book of Habakkuk is small—only three chapters—but its message is timeless. It speaks to every believer who has ever looked at the world, felt overwhelmed, and wondered, “God, what are You doing?”

 

Habakkuk, whose name means “one who embraces,” was a prophet who struggled with what he saw. Violence, injustice, corruption, and moral decay filled the land. The people had briefly turned from idolatry, but after the king’s death, they slipped right back into sin. Habakkuk was frustrated with the people, but even more frustrated with God’s silence. “Why do You let me see all this trouble?” he cried.

 

Does that sound like today? We watch the news and see wickedness, division, and cruelty. We see neighbors oppressing neighbors. We see systems failing the vulnerable. And like Habakkuk, we ask God hard questions.

 

But God answered: “I am working a work in your days…” Even when we cannot trace His hand, His plan is unfolding. Faith means trusting God’s timing, God’s wisdom, and God’s sovereignty, especially when nothing makes sense.

 

Habakkuk learned that faith is not a moment; it is a lifestyle. It is choosing to believe God’s character over our circumstances. It is remembering the miracles He has already performed in our lives. It is releasing our worries and recommitting our trust.

 

And like Habakkuk, we can declare:

“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord… The Lord God is my strength.” (Hab. 3:17–19)

 

May this be our posture today, faith that embraces God even when we have questions.

God’s Earthly Heart

 We are God’s earthly heartbeats. His hands, His voice, His compassion made visible. As followers of Christ, we are called to love the loveless, encourage the hopeless, and inspire the doubtful. Yet many of us have spiritually flat‑lined. Our hearts beat, but not for God or for His people. If the Lord performed open‑heart surgery today, what would He find? A heart overflowing with grace—or one hardened by selfishness, fear, and indifference?

 

Scripture warns that in the last days, love will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). But God has not called us to be temperature‑takers of the world; He has called us to be thermostats, warming hearts through compassion, presence, and truth. Like Isaiah, we must respond to God’s call with, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Evangelism is not only preaching; it is living as a witness. It is allowing your story, your scars, and your victories to testify of God’s goodness.

 

Paul reminds us that we are “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20). Ambassadors don’t stay silent. They represent the heart of the One who sent them. You are not the only one deserving of God’s grace, so don’t keep it to yourself. Someone needs your testimony to breathe again. Someone needs your kindness to hope again.

 

Change your heart posture. Don’t be afraid to share what God has done for you with those who feel forgotten. Let your light shine so brightly that others can see the God who still heals, still restores, and still loves through you.
