Do A New Thing With God

There are moments when life feels like a standstill, when you’re praying, pushing, and trying, yet nothing seems to shift. 

Israel knew this feeling well. After centuries of bondage, God delivered them from Egypt with a mighty hand. But freedom didn’t come without challenges. God intentionally led them the long way around, straight toward the Red Sea (Exodus 13:17–18). It looked like a dead end, but it was actually the setup for a new beginning.

 

When the Israelites saw Pharaoh’s army approaching, fear overwhelmed them. They cried out, complained, and questioned God’s plan (Exodus 14:10–12). Isn’t that how we respond when our “new thing” doesn’t look the way we expected? We ask God for change, but when the path gets uncomfortable, we reach back for what’s familiar, even if it was harmful.

 

Yet God wasn’t shaken by their fear. He told Moses, “Move forward.” The miracle didn’t happen until they stepped toward the impossible. God parted the waters, proving that His new thing often begins where our strength ends.

 

Jesus echoes this same truth when He says, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30). When you surrender control, you make room for God to work. When you stop rehearsing the past, you can finally perceive the new thing He is doing.

 

Today, choose forward. Let go of what God has already released. Trust Him with what you cannot see. The same God who made a path through the sea is making a path for you. Step into the new! He is already there.

The testing of your faith

Trials are not interruptions to our spiritual journey; they are part of the journey itself. 

James reminds us that the testing of our faith is not meant to break us but to build something within us that cannot be produced any other way. Perseverance is not learned in comfort. It is forged in seasons where we must trust God beyond what we can see, feel, or understand.

Every believer encounters moments when faith is stretched thin. Circumstances shift. Prayers seem delayed. Answers feel distant. Yet it is in these very moments that God is doing His deepest work. The pressure you feel is not punishment; it is preparation. God is strengthening your spiritual muscles, teaching you to stand firm, and shaping a testimony that will one day encourage someone else who is walking through their own valley.

Perseverance is not passive. It is the decision to keep believing when doubt whispers. It is choosing prayer over panic, worship over worry, and trust over fear. When your faith is tested, heaven is not watching to see if you will fail, heaven is watching to reveal what God has already placed inside you! 

And here is the promise: perseverance finishes its work. The trial will not last forever. The season will not consume you. God will complete what He started. On the other side of this testing, you will stand stronger, wiser, and more anchored in Him than ever before.

So hold on. Keep pressing. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Your faith is being refined, and your perseverance is producing something eternal. God is not just bringing you through, He is growing you through.

There is nothing better than God

Nothing in this world can compare to the love, grace, and goodness of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the source of every blessing, the giver of life, and the One who sustains us through every season. 

When we intentionally nurture our relationship with Him—through prayer, worship, repentance, and obedience we discover that He is always present, always near, always working on our behalf.

 

As we seek Him, He strengthens our faith. As we repent, He forgives. As we draw near, He reveals Himself in ways that surpass human understanding. The Holy Trinity walks with us through every challenge, offering peace when life feels heavy, comfort when our hearts are burdened, and strength when we feel weak. Knowing Jesus is not about logic it is about revelation, transformation, and divine encounter.

 

There truly is nothing better than God. And when this truth settles in your spirit, everything changes. Consider these joyful reminders:

 

• Experience the overwhelming love and grace of God—there’s nothing better.

• Let Him guide and strengthen you through every challenge.

• Feel the power of Jesus’ presence deep within your heart.

• Allow Christ to be your purpose, your source, your center.

• Discover the true giver of every good and perfect gift.

• Embrace forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life through Jesus.

• Face every struggle with confidence—Jesus is by your side.

• Anchor your life in Him and walk in His endless blessings.

There is nothing better than God and there never will be.

Be persistent

Faith – it cannot be felt, tasted, touched, or seen yet we believe. Faith begins where reasoning ends. The parable of the persistent widow (Lk 18:1-8), illustrates how deep her faith was and how Her steadfastness prevailed. For many, all hope would have faded at the first rejection. After a few more denials, they would revert back to their own understanding, disbelief in man, and doubtfulness in God’s capabilities. 

Faith is a way of life. It’s a life of fearing God, respecting neighbor, trusting in God’s goodness and power, even while being surrounded by injustice.

Life’s challenge is how to live in this cruel unjust society loving neighbor, seeking to do justice, and trusting that in the end God’s will shall be done? God hears your prayers. He knows your situation and pain. Through prayer, never give up. God answers prayers in his own time. It’s through faith we don’t lose heart. ❤️

Every journey is not smooth

Blessings are often missed because we select our plans opposed to God’s plan. When our clarion prayers are answered we second guess God’s response. No matter how tough the journey learn to trust God and walk in faith. For every hard task rejected because  we believe it will cost pain or struggle it has a sweet in it. By not doing it, we miss the blessing from God. For every heavy load we are asked to carry, God will provide the needed strength and guidance. Seek God in everything thing. Pray. Study the word. Allow God to order your steps (Ps 119:133-136) and his word to be a lamp under your feet, and a light unto my path (Ps. 119:105).  Be encouraged. 

Does your soul leak?

One does not know a roof leaks until it rains.  Likewise, Christians go through life oblivious of leaks in their soul until the storms of affliction come. It is then we find unbelief, fear, and impatience, seeping from within our carnal minds. It exposes the true depth of our faith. It’s when the flood gates of distress are opened and life’s trials are thrusted upon us do we realize defects in our spiritual armor. Save me God for the waters come unto my soul (Ps. 69:1). It’s during these times we must tread the stormy waters and trust God. For he holds all the waters in his hands. Your struggles are only a test to reveal your spiritual needs. The leaks can be  repaired by prayer, Faith building, and yielding to the Holy Spirit.

Deeply-rooted problems can be removed

 We all have experienced deeply-rooted problems we’ve thought were impossible to resolve. We questioned our abilities and doubted God. The disciples were no different they too encountered situations where their faith wavered. Matthew 17:14-20, displays the disciples lack of faith to cast out a demon (v.16). Faith can be a struggle. When we wallow in unbelief it blinds us from comprehending how God says our mustard seed faith can move a mulberry tree (Luke 17:5-6). To uproot a mulberry tree is impossible. Yet God says your mustard seed faith is enough to solve any hardship. When facing what appears to be the impossible and your faith is wavering, recite this three-word prayer the disciples used when they faced the impossible, “increase our faith!” As You continue to pray and walk in faith, the potential to overcome great obstacles in life increases. Have faith. Trust in the Lord. 

It’s ok to question God

In your Peter moment of faith, it’s ok to question God but don’t doubt God. In the middle of the storm, when Peter and the disciples saw Jesus walking on water, they became fearful (Matt. 14:25-26). When chaos strikes we cry out to God but we become doubtful of the outcome. It’s easier to be fearful opposed to taking courage like Jesus suggest (v. 27-28). God is waiting for you to step out in your faith and trust him. It was only when Peter stopped looking at Jesus that he started to sink. No matter how dark, dismal, and chaotic the storm, always keep your eyes on Christ.

When God seems far away

I better understand how a person can question their faith and choose to give up on God. That point when God appears far away. You’ve done all the right things, yet chaos and heartache is relentless. One car issue after another. Sickness knocks you down you haven’t worked in weeks. Bills pile up and you have no money. Turmoil awaits at every corner. Life is in shambles. God where are you? Why Lord do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?  (Psalms 10:1) David, the chosen one, experienced the same thing. Despite his many accomplishments we find him asking God had he forsaken him in Psalms 22:1 when Saul was in hot pursuit for his life (1 Sam. 21:1-23:29). When David operated in the flesh, by his own understanding, he stayed frustrated and always running trying to figure it out. When he slowed down, prayed, and sought God, slowly things begin to change. Life will continue to throw situations at us. It’s when we learn to stay in continuous prayer, thanking God in all circumstances, and trusting God’s word no matter the outcome God works in his greatness! Learn to trust his word; don’t be afraid or terrified because the Lord your God goes with you, never leaving or forsaking you (Deut. 31:6).
