Mercies Too Many to Count

Good Morning!

 If there were someone who could lift you out of your lowest pit without condemning you… Someone who satisfies your desires with good things… someone compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and overflowing with love, wouldn’t you want to meet them? Wouldn’t you run toward them with gratitude? 

God is that Someone. Yet how easily we forget His mercies. How quickly we slip into complaining, worrying, or asking for more instead of praising Him for what He has already done.

 

Psalm 103 is one of the purest songs of praise in Scripture. David wrote it from a place of remembrance. He knew what it felt like to fail, to fall, to fear, and still be met with mercy. Like David, we must remind our souls of who God is, especially when the world around us feels unstable.

 

Think about this year alone. We have watched the civil unrest of our government, the deepening division of America, and the unraveling of unity we once took for granted. We have faced global storms and personal storms, sickness, uncertainty, loss, fear, and frustration. We have all felt the weight of a world in turmoil. Yet through every fire, every storm, every tear, God has remained faithful. His mercies have not run out. His compassion has not dried up. His love has not changed.

 

Take time today to praise God intentionally. Let Psalm 103 be your guide. Bless the Lord with all that is within you. Praise Him not because life is perfect, but because His mercy is.

You Are the One Who Saved Me

Good Morning! 

There have been moments in all our lives when someone showed up just in time. A friend answered the phone when we were overwhelmed. A family member stepped in when we were sinking financially, emotionally, or spiritually. 

They pulled us from situations that felt like deep pits, places of fear, confusion, and uncertainty. Their presence felt like rescue, and their words felt like oxygen. For that, we are sincerely grateful.

Yet if we are not careful, gratitude toward people can quietly replace reverence for God. We begin to see the hand that reached toward us but forget the One who sent it. We celebrate the vessel and overlook the Source. The truth is, while people may participate in our rescue, they are not the Savior. They are instruments in the hands of the One who truly delivers.

Jesus Christ is the One who saves completely. He does not just pull us out temporarily; He sets our feet on solid ground. When others helped, it was His provision. When doors opened, it was His authority. When strength came at the last moment, it was His Spirit sustaining us. Every rescue has His fingerprints on it.

There is a deeper pit than hardship or distress, the pit of sin and separation from God. No friend could redeem us from that place. Only Jesus descended into death and rose again with victory in His hands.

Today we say with humble hearts, “You are the One who saved me.” We thank those God used, but we worship the true Rescuer - Jesus the Christ.
