Read - Genesis 18:1-9
Abraham looked up and
saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance
of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. Genesis 18:2
Leftover’s flavors intensify the next day. I guess it’s something about the seasonings that
gives the food more flavor. It is okay to feed our family day old food but
would you serve it to a stranger, friend, dignitary, or even Jesus?
Well most of us would. God ask for our best yet more often
than not we give leftovers. Not just to
our Father in heaven but to everyone, friends and strangers.
Three strangers came to visit Abraham unannounced. Instead of turning them away he ran and greeted them enthusiastically.
He went as far as having his wife bake fresh bread; he selected his prime beef
and served up a feast.
Abraham entertained the men with excitement he treated them
like family. God takes notice of our genuine willingness to help others –
friends and strangers.
The relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost should
improve. Our good Godly manners should teach us how to honor all men. By doing
so, we will always give our best to God and not our leftovers.
