Good Morning!
Like the flowers need the rain and the darkness needs the night, we all need something.
Human beings are wired for dependence. We cling to relationships like in marriage, friendships, and family hoping they will fill the empty spaces of our hearts. We chase affirmation, security, and belonging. And while these connections matter, they cannot sustain the deepest parts of us.
As Christians, we carry a greater need, the need for God Himself. We need the Father who created us, the Son who redeemed us, and the Holy Spirit who guides us. Without the Holy Trinity, we are like a blind man without a cane, stumbling through life in total darkness. We may function, but we cannot flourish.
David learned this truth the hard way. When he was on the run from Saul, fear pushed him into decisions that pulled him out of alignment with God. In moments when he stopped depending on the Lord, he found himself acting out of desperation instead of faith. But every time David returned to God, he rediscovered strength, clarity, and purpose. His need for God wasn’t a weakness—it was his lifeline.
We need God. Every day. Every hour. Every breath.
But how do we keep that need alive?
We keep it alive by seeking Him intentionally.
By praying not out of routine but out of relationship.
By opening His Word and letting it shape our desires.
By inviting the Holy Spirit to lead our decisions, soften our hearts, and correct our steps.
By remembering that without Him, we are empty, but with Him, we are whole.
The world offers substitutes, but only God satisfies.
So today, lean into your need.
Let it draw you closer, deeper, and more fully into the One who is everything you will ever need.
